A clear 6-step production process
Step 1: Tell Us About Your Project
Fill out our New Project Form to the best of your ability (guesses are acceptable, and so is stating that you don't know something). These answers will help us determine our collaboration fit, and better prepare for the next steps.
Step 2: Have a Strategy Session
During this meeting, we will lay out the scope of your project, outline plans to troubleshoot any obstacles you may face, strategize more cost-effective ways to complete your project, and answer more of your questions.
Step 3: Choose Your Strategy
We know what you want, and it's time for you to go shopping! We have a database of over two thousand artists from the animation pipeline. We will show you variations of what your project could look like, and you will choose the path that appeals most to you.
Step 4: Working Agreement & Invoice
Once you have selected your favorite plan for the project, it's time to create a realistic schedule that meets both the needs of production and your personal life. We'll draft a working agreement that covers all of the unique specifications for the project.
Step 5: Updates & Approvals
Yay! It's time to animate! During the course of the project, we will give you updates, so that you will always be informed with your project's status.
Step 6: Delivery
It's time for the big reveal, but there will be no surprises! That's the benefit of us updating you all along the way. This, however, is the perfect time to make sure any final needs are met.Ready to make an animation?
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Animation is especially valuable when you need to demonstrate a process, visualize change over time, simplify a complex subject, show something that cannot be filmed, or build a distinctive visual world around your message. Research shows that animation can improve understanding when movement and transformation are essential to the information being communicated.
Video is also firmly established in modern business communication. In recent industry surveys, 91% of businesses reported using video in their marketing, 84% of consumers said they wanted more video from brands, and 89% said video quality affects their trust in a company.
Animation is not automatically the best solution for every project. We evaluate your audience, goals, message, distribution plan, budget, and timeline before recommending the medium and production approach most likely to serve your needs.
-
Your cost will depend on the length, style, and complexity of your project. For example, a 60-second motion-graphics video using simple shapes and text will cost less than 60 seconds of original character animation, detailed environments, visual effects, or 3D production. Voice acting, music, sound design, revisions, delivery formats, usage needs, and deadlines will also affect the price.
Share your budget range with us early, and we will recommend the strongest approach it can realistically support. Before production begins, you will receive a written scope outlining the deliverables, schedule, included revisions, and total cost, so you know exactly what to expect.
-
Most short custom animated explainers take about 4 to 8 weeks. More complex 3D projects often take 8 to 10 weeks, while episodes, films, series, and other large productions take longer. Your schedule will depend on the project’s length, style, complexity, and the work involved, such as scripting, design, storyboarding, voice recording, animation, sound, editing, reviews, and final delivery.
To keep your project on schedule, we need timely approvals and clear, consolidated feedback from the right decision-makers. If you have a fixed launch, festival, broadcast, presentation, or campaign date, tell us before we scope the project. We will recommend the right creative approach, team, and deliverables, then provide a realistic schedule before production begins.
-
You do not need a finished script, storyboard, character designs, or production plan before contacting us. Start with the message, story, product, lesson, or idea you want to share. We will help clarify your audience, goals, visual direction, budget, deadline, and the response you want the animation to create.
From there, we can develop the concept, script, designs, storyboard, animatic, schedule, budget, and production team. You will review and approve each stage before we move forward, giving the project a clear direction before the more time-intensive animation work begins.
-
You can hire us to create individual visual assets without producing a completed animation. Our team can develop concept art, character and environment designs, illustrations, storyboards, animatics, pitch-deck artwork, branded visuals, motion graphics, and other creative materials.
Before work begins, we will confirm the deliverables, number of concepts, revisions, dimensions, file formats, usage, and whether editable source files are included. This ensures the artwork is created for the platform, presentation, brand, or production where you intend to use it.
-
Our primary focus is creating animated films, but we can also assist with digital products such as books, flyers, social media campaigns, crowdfunding materials, and other visual content that can be developed and delivered online. We can also adapt your existing artwork and animation assets for additional uses, helping you extend the value of what has already been created.
For physical products such as printed books, merchandise, packaging, or 3D-printed models, we can prepare the digital files and connect you with trusted partners who specialize in production. We do not handle printing or manufacturing in-house, but we can help make sure your materials are ready for the vendor who will.
-
Absolutely. You do not need to understand animation terminology, software, production roles, or pipelines before working with us. Bring us your idea, and we will turn it into a clear production plan while explaining each decision in language you can understand.
