Role: Design Assistant, Intern “Project CLD”

We are seeking a Design Assistant Intern to support the visual development team on “Project CLD”, a light-hearted, humorous educational adventure series for children. This fully remote, part-time internship is designed for individuals who are passionate about visual storytelling and eager to gain hands-on experience supporting 2D animation production.
This opportunity is open to applicants of legal working age, regardless of formal education or prior industry experience. Whether you are a student, self-taught artist, or exploring a new creative path, we welcome those who can demonstrate a passion for design and an effort to develop their craft.
About the Role:
As a Design Assistant Intern, you will help organize, prepare, and manage the visual assets used throughout production. You’ll assist with setting up scenes, maintaining asset libraries, and supporting the design team by prepping backgrounds, characters, and props for the animation pipeline. This role offers practical experience in design file handling, pipeline structure, and collaboration with multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support 2D scene setup by prepping design elements for layout and animation
Assist with layout organization, file labeling, and background formatting
Maintain asset folders to ensure consistency and accessibility for the art team
Help create visual reference sheets and update design documentation
Communicate with the production team to stay aligned on design needs and deadlines
Workload:
Estimated 5 to 10 hours per week from June to August. This internship is remote and includes regular video meetings. A potential second cycle may run from September to November for those who are not students or who wish to continue.
Qualifications:
Passion for animation design, visual storytelling, and artistic collaboration
Basic understanding of scene composition, file preparation, or visual asset handling
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or a similar design tool
Ability to stay organized, take direction, and contribute to a team
No formal education required, but applicants must show effort in developing their skills (via personal projects, coursework, or portfolio work)
